Selected by Colorado in the 12th round of the 2007 June draft. 2009 Spent his 3rd professional season with Double-A Tulsa as the club's regular third baseman...hit .271 (130-for-479) with 13 home runs and 52 RBI in 128 games...after making the jump from Single-A Asheville to Double-A Tulsa he struggled early in the season, hitting just .252 (63-for-250) prior to the All- Star break...then hit .293 (67-for-229) after the break, including hitting 10 of his 13 home runs after the break. 2008 In his first full professional season he was named the Most Valuable Player of the South Atlantic League after leading the circuit in RBI with 102...also led the league with 46 doubles...finished in the top 5 of the league with a .318 average, a .400 OBP, and an .891 OPS...his 46 doubles were the 2nd most in minor league baseball...was named a mid-season and post-season All-Star in the SAL...was named a Class A All-Star by Baseball America...also named by the same publication as the Rockies 20th best prospect...the was named the SAL Player of the week for the week ending 5/26...his 102 RBI were the 3rd most in the Rockies organization. 2007 Spent his first professional season with short-A Tri-City...ranked first in games played (74), second in total bases (145), third in hits (84) and extra base hits (36), fourth in doubles (23), and fourth in atbats (277).
