Went 10-3 with a 2.64 ERA and 110 K's in 19 games (18 starts) as a junior with the University of Miami in 2010...That year, led the Hurricanes and ranked among Atlantic Coast Conference leaders in ERA (1st), wins (2nd), and K's (3rd)...Led the University of Miami in wins (7), innings pitched (90.2), and strikeouts (93) in 2009...Named 2008 Freshman of the Year byBaseball America after going 11-0, the school's best-ever record for a freshman, with a 2.62 ERA while topping the team in wins, starts (17), innings (112.2), and strikeouts (117). Was 4-year letter-winner and 2-time first team all-state selection at Monsignor Pace (FL) High School...Went 7-2 with 106 strikeouts and a 0.87 ERA his senior season in 2007 and was selected as The Miami Herald's Class 4A-1A Pitcher of the Year as a senior...Helped team to the state championship as a junior. 2012 Ranked 2nd among full-season Red Sox qualifiers with a 3.26 ERA (53 ER/146.1 IP) over 26 games (25 starts) between Double-A Portland and Triple-A Pawtucket.
