Spent the majority of the season with St. Louis after opening the year with Memphis (AAA). Was recalled for the first time on 5/13 and optioned five days later (5/18) after pitching just once (5/13, 1.0 IP, 0 R). Recalled for the remainder of the year on 5/24. Made 44 relief appearances for St. Louis and went 2-0 with both wins coming in extra innings. Produced scoreless outings in 35 of his 44 appearances. Held right-handed batters to a .195 BA (17-87) with two extra base hits (both doubles), 11th lowest batting average against among Major League left-handed relievers. Had a career-high 8.0 inning scoreless streak over his first eight games with St. Louis, 5/13-6/10. Struck out a career high 4 batters on 8/11 at MIA and tied his career high with 2.0 IP. Also pitched 2.0 innings on 6/17 vs. NYM. Allowed two home runs all season, both in same game at BAL (8/8). Appeared in 16 games for Memphis where, aside from a 4-run outing at Omaha on 4/9, surrendered just single earned runs on four separate occasions (20.1 IP). Made 13 appearances for the Cardinals in two stints. Was recalled 8/8 & 8/29 from Memphis (AAA)... Fired scoreless outings in 11 of 13 appearances in MLB, allowing a total of three runs over 12.1 innings pitched... Was not scored upon in first seven appearances in St. Louis (8/8-9.4) covering 7.2 innings, allowing just four hits...
