Signed by Rockies scout Dar Cox...was rated as the 33rd-best player in the 2010 Draft by Baseball America, as well as the 16th-best right-handed pitcher in the Draft by the same publication...Baseball America also rated Bettis the fifth-best prospect overall from the state of Texas...Bettis is a native of Lubbock, TX and was originally drafted in the eighth round of the 2007 First-Year Player Draft by the Houston Astros.

2014

Was a member of the Rockies Opening Day roster, his first career Opening Day in the Majors...Began the season in the Majors and was optioned to Triple-A four times and recalled four times...originally optioned to Triple-A on April 25, recalled on April 30...optioned again on May 3, recalled on June 3...optioned on June 11 and recalled on June 30...optioned on July 29 and recalled after the final game of the season...At Triple-A, went 3-4 with a 3.09 ERA (55.1 IP, 19 ER) in 20 games/five starts...Was moved to the starting rotation for his final five games at Triple-A and went 1-2 with a 4.88 ERA (24.0 IP, 13 ER)...went 2-2 with a 1.72 ERA (31.1 IP, 6 ER) in 15 relief appearances for the Sky Sox.
