Full name TRAVIS JORDAN BANWART…Single...Graduated from Goddard (KS) High School in 2004 where he was first-team all-state as a pitcher (played with Oakland C Derek Norris during senior year) ...Named Louisville Slugger Player of the Year for Kansas...Named an All-American by Collegiate Baseball during senior season...Played three seasons at Wichita State University, advancing to Super Regional his junior season, going 10-5 w/a 2.68ERA in 18 starts in 2007 (110.2IP, 95H, 33ER, 111K).

2013

Spent the entire season at AAA Sacramento in his final season in the A's organization...Began the year in the bullpen (3.86ER, 6G, 11.2IP, 15H, 5ER, 14K) before spending the last four months of the season in the River Cats' rotation...Over his final 11 starts from July 6 thru the end of the season he was 6-0 w/a 4.03 ERA (60.1IP, 64H, 27ER, 59K) to lower his season ERA from 5.22 to 4.60 to end campaign...ERA at home was 4.24 (70.0IP, 72H, 33ER) and 5.02 on the road in the hitter-friendly PCL...Limited right-handed hitters to a .252 (66-262) average against with a .752 OPS (LHH batted .309/885)...Has only been on the DL once in his career (2008)...Averaged 8.6 strikeouts per 9.0IP in 2013.
