Spent the majority of the season with El Paso in the Pacific Coast League (AAA)...LH batters hit .337 (55-443) while RH batters posted a .278 mark (104-374)...Tossed 6+ inningd in only five of 21 starts, however allowed two or less runs in 10 of 21.

2013

Returned in June after recovering from Tommy John surgery and proved to be a major piece of Double-A San Antonio's run to the Texas League title...Returned in June after rehabbing from Tommy John surgery, making two starts for the Rookie-Level Padres in Arizona before a promotion to San Antonio...made 12 starts down the stretch for the Missions...Started a pair of games in the Texas League playoffs and went 1-0, not allowing a run on five hits in 12.0 innings, walking three with 12 strikeouts...Carried success into the offseason, recording a 6-1 record with a 2.77 ERA (12 ER, 39.0 IP) in eight starts for Hermosillo in the Mexican Winter League...Added to the Padres' 40-man roster on November 20.
