Last name is pronounced as: air-us...Made his professional debut at the age of 16 with Los Potros de Tijuana, which translates to English as the Tijuana Colts...The Astros have only had seven Mexicanborn players to appear in a regular season Major League game in franchise history, including just four position players: 3B Vinny Castilla (2001), 1B Jose Tolentino (1991), C Alex Trevino (1988-90) and SS Hector Torres (1968-70, 1973)...On Aug. 18, 2013, the Astros agreed to terms with the Diablos Rojos de Mexico (Mexico City Red Devils) of the Mexican League to acquire Heras and IF Japhet Amador...the terms of the deal were not disclosed...Heras is currently signed to a minor league contract with an invitation to Major League Spring Training, which he received on Jan. 14, 2014.

2013

Earned his third Mexican League All-Star appearance while playing for the Red Devils...hit .310 (104x335) with 81 runs scored, 19 doubles, nine triples, 11 homers, 42 RBI and a .398 OBP...batted primarily leadoff and ranked tied for second in the Mexican League in triples...acquired by Houston on Aug. 18 and assigned to Double A Corpus Christi...went 1x4 with a double in his stateside debut on Aug. 23 vs. Midland...played in 10 games for the Hooks posting two doubles, one triple, one home run and five RBI...played for Guasave in the Mexican Winter League and hit .266 (50x188) with 22 runs scored, seven doubles, 18 RBI and nine steals in 52 games.

2012

Hit .323 (147x455) in his second season with Mexico City, posting 111 runs scored, 18 doubles, eight triples, a career-high 24 home runs, 64 RBI, 17 steals and a .398 OBP...slugged .556 for a .954 OPS...played in 112 of the club's 113 games...led the league in runs scored by a margin of 17, while ranking ninth in the league in home runs.

2011

Moved over to play for Mexico City and earned his second consecutive All-Star appearance after hitting .342 (152x444) with 100 runs scored, 16 doubles, eight triples, 18 home runs, 60 RBI, 25 steals and a .399 OBP...led the league in hits, while ranking second in runs scored, tied for second in triples and fifth in stolen bases...played for Guasave in the Mexican Winter League, hitting .264 (57x216) in 61 games.

2010

Made his first All-Star appearance while playing for Reynosa in 2010...on the year, hit .316 (126x399) with 15 doubles, eight triples, four home runs, 55 RBI and a .379 OBP...finished fourth in the league with eight triples...for the second consecutive offseason, played for Guasave in the Mexican Winter League and hit .306 with 44 runs scored, 11 doubles, five triples, 10 homers and 35 RBI in 63 games.

2009

The Tijuana franchise moved to Reynosa, as did Heras, where he hit .330 (146x442) with 89 runs scored, 21 doubles, 10 triples, 46 RBI and a .376 OBP...played in 105 of the club's 107 games...ranked second in the league in triples, tied for fifth in hits and sixth in runs scored...played for Guasave in the Mexican Winter League for the first time in his career, where he hit .298 (37x124) with three doubles, two homers and 10 RBI in 50 games.

2008

Established himself as an everyday player for Tijuana while playing the majority of the season at the age of 17...hit .271 (76x280) with 20 doubles, seven triples, two homers, 27 RBI and a .322 on-base percentage in 78 games...finished fifth in the league in triples...played all over the field that season, seeing 63 games at second base, 10 in left field, eight in center field, two in right field and one at shortstop.

2007

Made his professional debut at the age of 16 with los Potros de Tijuana in the Mexican League...played in only 11 games, all coming in April, appearing mostly as a pinch-runner...hit .190 (4x21) in limited action...made six starts, three in center field and three in right field.
