Derek Lane Holland…is the Rangers player representative…graduated from Newark (OH) High School in 2005 and attended Wallace State Community College (Hanceville, AL)…has served as an instructor for a youth hitting and pitching camp at Total Athletic Development in Newark…December 21, 2009 was proclaimed "Derek Holland Day" in Newark…hobbies include fishing and golf…is an avid supporter of the Dallas Stars and Dallas Mavericks.

2015

Missed over four months after suffering an injury before his first start of the year, and went 4-3 with a 4.91 ERA (32 ER/58.2 IP) in 10 games/starts…started Game 4 of the Division Series vs. Toronto at Globe Life Park.

Missed the first 5 months of the season while rehabbing from offseason knee surgery, but returned and was selected Rangers September Player of the Month...it was the 2nd time Holland won the club's monthly award (also July 2011).
