Jeffrey Aaron Walters graduated from Olympia High School where he played baseball, football and basketball…Was the starting quarterback and a two-time MVP basketball…Named the U.S. Army 2006 Olympic High School 6A Student Athlete of the Year. Selected by the San Francisco Giants in the 24th round of the 2006 First-Year Player Draft but did not sign. Attended St. Petersburg College in Florida for two years…Won back-to-back Suncoast Conference titles. Played two years at the University of Georgia…Started two games in the postseason against #2 LSU in the SEC Tournament and Ohio State in the NCAA Tallahassee Regional as a junior.

In his first years as a closer, he led all of minor league baseball in saves and set a Binghamton franchise mark with his 38 saves. Was named to the mid-season and postseason Eastern League All-Star teams...Also was a Co-Winner of the Sterling Award, with Noah Syndergaard as the Most Valuable Player of his Binghamton team. His 38 saves were the most in the Eastern League since 2006. Held opponents to a .224 batting average and posted a 9.64 strikeout per nine innings rate. Ran up 10 saves in 11 games in August…Had nine saves in June and July and eight in April. For the year he converted 38 of 42 save opportunities (90 percent). Lefthanded batters hit .218 against him (17-78), while righties batted .228 against him (29-127). Pitched a season-high 2.0 innings three times, last May 25 vs. Portland. Was unscored upon in 46 of his 53 appearances.
