Phillip III and Elizabeth...A 2003 graduate from Faith Academy in Mobile, Ala., where he posted an overall high school record of 36-1...went 13-0 with an 0.66 ERA, 123 strikeouts and just four walks in 85.0 innings during his senior season...Holds the Faith Academy records for career wins, single-season wins, single-season strikeouts, single-season ERA and fewest walks in a season...Attended University of South Alabama...posted an 11-3 record and a 3.20 ERA with 166 strikeouts during his senior year (2006)...In 2006, selected second team All-America by Collegiate Baseball and third team by Baseball America...also named Sun Belt Conference co-Pitcher of the Year and first team all-league after becoming the conference's career leader in strikeouts and innings pitched.
