Engaged, Savannah Evans...Graduated from Wellington High School in 2003...A career .285 (110-for-589) hitter at the University of Florida...Was a member of the 2005 USA Baseball National Team... He broke every Gator defensive record, including the national record for the most runners thrown out in a single season/career... Also broke Charles Johnson's record for the best percentage for throwing out runners in a single season (63%) and his career percentage was 51%... Was awarded the 2006 Defensive Player-of-the-Year by Louisville Slugger and Defensive Catcher-of-the-Year by Wilson and Easton. 2012 Missed two months of the season (just 37 games) from June 12-August 10 due to a right knee injury...Rehabbed with the GCL club, August 3-6, and with Class A Dunedin, August 7-9...Hit .239 (11-46) upon his return in August to finish out the season (15 games)...Threw out 44% (18 of 41) of the runners attempting to steal off him for the season with NH. 2011 Had his contract selected on Aug. 23 from Las Vegas of the Pacific Coast League (AAA) but did not appear in a game...
