Preston Michael Claiborne...attended Tulane University in New Orleans, La., appearing out of the bullpen for school's baseball team..was a four-year letterman at Newman Smith High School in Carrollton, Tex., earning First-Team All-District 8-5A honors in final three seasons…was named by Baseball America as the 35th best prospect among high school seniors in 2006.

2014

In fifth professional season, went 3-0 with a 3.00 ERA (21.0 IP/7 ER) in 18 relief appearances over three stints with Yankees. Also made 15 appearances with 0-1 record with two saves and 3.54 ERA (20.1/8) with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre...Opened season with RailRiders, making five appearances before being recalled by Yankees on April 20...Following second option to Scranton/WB on June 4, made seven appearances prior to landing on seven-day disabled list with a right shoulder sprain...Went 0-1 with 9.53 ERA (5.2/6) in four combined rehab appearances (three starts) between GCL Yankees 1 and GCL Yankees 2...Completed rehab assignment and reinstated from disabled list on August 23. batting average (.243, 73-for-301). Was named FSL "Pitcher of the Week" for the week of 7/25-7/31 after going 1-0 with 9K in 6.0 scoreless innings over two relief appearances during the stretch (1H). Following the season, made 12 relief appearances for the Phoenix Desert Dogs of the Arizona Fall League, going 0-2 with a 3.00 ERA (12.0IP, 4ER).

2010

Made his professional debut, combining to go 1-3 with a 2.61 ERA (31.0IP, 9ER) in 24 relief appearances with short-season Single-A Staten Island and Single-A Tampa. Began the season with Staten Island, going 1-2 with a 2.28 ERA (23.2IP, 6ER) and 30K… was named to the NYPL American League All-Star team prior to being promoted to Tampa on 8/23.
