Jonathan Anibal Arias (AH-ree-uhs)...originally signed with Seattle in 2006 and played his first three pro seasons as a catcher...made pro pitching debut in 2009.

2013

Began season with Jackson, appearing in 12 games in relief before being transferred to Tacoma on May 18..struck out at least 1 batter in 28 of 32 appearances with Tacoma, including a season-high 6 batters on July 2 vs. COL…went 3-0 with a 4.50 ERA in 16 games at home, including limiting opponents to a .248 (32x129) batting average…appeared in 16 games with Yaquis de Obregon in the Liga Mexicana Profesional and two games with Leones de Escogido in the Dominican Winter League.

2012 Split season between High Desert (April 6-June 20) and Jackson (June 21-end of season)...tossed at least 2.0 innings in 19 of 46 relief appearances...on the disabled list with a right elbow strain, July 30-Aug. 7...played for Leones del Escogido in the Dominican Winter League...became a minor league free agent and re-signed with Seattle on Oct. 31, 2012. 2011 Made 39 relief appearances with Clinton, second-most on the club...began season on the disabled list with a strained left oblique muscle...led all Midwest League relievers in strikeouts per 9.0 IP with a 14.35 average (101 K in 63.1 IP); only full-time reliever in the MWL to strike out 100 batters...posted 15.0 inning scoreless streak, May 21-June 12...posted a sub-.200 opponent average in three consecutive months, June (.159), July (.143) and August (.194). 2010 Began season with Everett...allowed only 1 run over final 14.0 innings to lower ERA from 4.22 to 2.19... transferred to Clinton on Aug. 21, appearing in 4 games (2 starts). 2009 Converted to pitcher in offseason and made pitching debut in the Dominican Summer League, going 0-2 with a 5.40 ERA (8 ER, 13.1 IP) in 5 games, 3 starts...transferred to AZL Mariners on June 17...recorded first career win July 29 at AZL Royals (1.0,3,3,3,0,2) 2008 Appeared in games with Wisconsin (June 14-21 & Aug. 21-26) and Peoria (June 21-July 3), but spent majority of the season with Pulaski...recorded season-high 3 RBI on July 14 at Bluefield...participated in the Mariners Advance Development League in Peoria. 2007 Appeared in 22 games with Peoria...threw out 33% of base runners (18 SB/9 CS)... participated in the Mariners Instructional League. 2006 Played in the Dominican Summer League, batting .184 (14x76) in 31 games.
