Angels call up lefty Ibarra, DFA Brown

The Angels continued to juggle their roster on Monday, selecting the contract of left-handed reliever Edgar Ibarra, sending corner outfielder Alfredo Marte back to Triple-A Salt Lake and designating center fielder Gary Brown for assignment.

Began season with Double-A New Britain going 2-2, 1.91 ERA (42.1 IP, 9 ER) with two saves in 31 relief appearances...allowed multiple runs in just one of 31 appearances for the Rock Cats... Posted a 17.0-inning scoreless streak and was promoted to Triple-A Rochester July 17... Named Twins minor league Player of the Week July 26, going 1-0 with 4.0 scoreless innings and six strikeouts in two games... Tossed 14.1 scoreless innings in first 12 appearances with the Red Wings...the 14.1 innings pitched marked the third longest streak by a Rochester pitcher in 2013 and longest by a reliever... Did not allow an earned run in 31.1 innings pitched combined between Rochester and New Britain June 4-August 20...allowed 13 hits, eight walks with 27 strikeouts in 26 appearances in that span... Posted a combined 1.93 ERA (60.2 IP, 13 ER) in 47 relief appearances between both levels...
