Deolis Alexander Guerra (pronounced: day-OH-lis GAIR-ah)... On Twitter: @deolisguerra. Originally signed with New York Mets as a 16-year-old non-drafted free agent on July 2, 2005... Signed by Mets scouts Robert Alfonzo, Sandy Johnson and Rafael Bournigal. Represented Mets organization with selection to Team World roster at 2007 All-Star Futures Game at AT&T Park in San Francisco. Entered 2008 season ranked by Baseball America as Mets No. 2 prospect. Was traded by New York to Minnesota on February 2, 2008 along with RHP Philip Humber, RHP Kevin Mulvey and OF Carlos Gomez in exchange for two-time Cy Young Award winner LHP Johan Santana. Rated by Baseball America as having "Best Changeup" in Minnesota system entering 2009, 2010 and 2012 campaigns. Trained with Venezuelan World Baseball Classic team in 2013 but did not pitch after being diagnosed with a blood clot in right shoulder... Had contract selected by Pittsburgh on June 26... Went 2-1 with four saves and a 1.23 ERA (36.2 IP - 5 ER) in 25 games with Indianapolis. Ranked third among International League relievers with a .165 (21/127) batting average against at the ti me of his promotion to Pirates... Did not surrender a run in 11 straight Triple-A games (13.2 IP) between May 25 and June 24 and was scored upon in just three of his 25 outings to start season.
