After acquiring James Loney from the Padres for cash considerations on Saturday, the Mets officially activated the first baseman on Tuesday. Loney made his first start, manning first base and batting sixth against White Sox starter Mat Latos.

Eric Singleton Campbell graduated from Norwich (CT) Free Academy…He set career school records in hits, home runs, average, stolen bases, runs and walks…He earned All-Conference honors three times…Was member of State Champion baseball team in 2003... Played baseball at Boston College where he was a co-captain…Was named to the All-ACC second-team as a sophomore in 2007…Teammates with Pete Fratus, one of the driving forces behind the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in 2014.

2015

Had three stints with the Mets...Began the season with Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League before being recalled for the first time on April 15...Optioned back to the 51s on May 5...Recalled by New York on May 16... Optioned back to Vegas on August 10...Recalled for the final time on September 1....Recorded an RBI in three consecutive games for the first time in his career from April 16-18....Hit .286 (10-35) after the All-Star break....Had a .308 (4-13) average as a pinch-hitter....Tied his career-high with three hits on September 27 at Cincinnati...It was the third time he accomplished the feat....Scored a career-high three runs on June 28 vs. Cincinnati.
