Kawasaki recalled, Candelario back to Triple-A

For the final two games of the first half, the Cubs decided they needed a little more experience on the bench, and recalled infielder Munenori Kawasaki from Triple-A Iowa on Saturday. Jeimer Candelario was optioned to Iowa to make room on the roster.

Munenori (moo-neh-noer-ee) Kawasaki (kah-wuh-sah-kee)… Married with one child... Selected in the 4th round of the 1999 NPB amateur draft by the Fukuoka Daiei Hawks… Played for Japan in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and was a member of the gold medal squad in the 2006 and 2009 World Baseball Classic.
