David Hunter Jones...attended Dwyer High School (FL) in West Palm Beach...spent two years at Florida State University, where he went a combined 7-5 with a 4.60 ERA in 33 games (25 starts) for the Seminoles. 2009 Started the season with Boston's triple-A affiliate in Pawtucket before making two seperate trips to the Red Sox over the course of the year...With PawSox, went 4-3 with two saves and a 4.25 ERA in 36 relief appearances...Earned first win of the season on June 23 at Norfolk, allowing only one hit over 1.0 inning of work. Followed that appearance with his second win on June 27 vs. Syracuse (1.0 IP)...Was two-of-four in save opportunities, earning saves on June 20 vs. Durham and July 26 vs. Colorado Springs...Tossed a season-high 3.0 innings of relief on August 26 vs. Buffalo, earning his final win of the season...Prior to the All-Star break, posted a 2-2 record with one save and a 2.25 ERA (24.0 IP/6 ER) in 18 games.
