Graduated from Columbus State University (Ga.) in 2005...named MVP of the 2002 Division II College World Series as helped the Cougars win their first National Championship... two-time All-American. 2010 Went 9-5 with a 3.86 ERA (105-IP, 45-ER) in 37 appearances (12 starts) with Triple-A Durham... held right-handed hitters to a .217 average on the season...went 7-0 with a 2.48 ERA (54.1-IP, 15-ER) before the All-Star break as a reliever...converted to a starter for the last two months of the season and went 4-4 with a 4.37 ERA (59.2-IP, 29-ER) in that role. 2009 Made 18 starts for Double-A Montgomery, his first experience as a starter...finished 2nd on the Biscuits and 7th in the Southern League in strikeouts (102)...did not allow a run in 5 apps (1 start) in May (16-IP). 2008 Led Class-A Vero Beach with 46 relief apps...held right-handed hitters to a .193 (32-for-166) batting average. 2007 Threw 21.2 consecutive scoreless innings from July 13-Aug 16, striking out 18 while giving up 11 hits... pitched multiple innings in 31 of his 39 apps...helped Class-A Columbus to a South Atlantic League championship in his hometown. 2006 Did not allow a run at home for Short-A Hudson Valley (10 apps, 13.2-IP)...held right-handed hitters to a .118 batting average (8-for-68) on the season. 2005 Held right-handed hitters to a .154 (10-for-65) batting average compared to a .364 (12-for-33) average for lefties.
