High in 2005...winner of the Sportsmanship Award and Mr. Baseball Award in the state of Washington...Originally drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 43rd round in 2005 and again by the San Francisco Giants in the 47th round in 2007, but did not sign...Pitched one season for Louisiana State University in 2008...made an SEC-best 18 starts and went 9-4 with a 4.12 ERA...was a teammate at LSU of Royals reliever Louis Coleman...Recovered from Tommy John surgery in 2005 to pitch in 2007 for Skagit Valley College in Mount Vernon, Wash...named Skagit Valley College Male Athlete of the Year in 2007. 2012 Ryan made just one appearance for KC, making his Major League debut on July 17 vs. Seattle, allowing 6 runs in 1.2 innings to suffer the 9-6 loss...spent the remainder of the season with Omaha as the club's most reliable starter...Was a PCL All-Star and member of the postseason All-PCL team with Omaha...ranked first in league in opponent average, fourth in ERA and tied for fourth in wins. 2011 Made his first appearance in big league camp with the Giants in Scottsdale and then pitched the entire campaign at Double-A Richmond. ...Made 25 starts for Richmond ... entering 2011, all but one of his 76 career appearances came in relief. 2010 Split time between Class A Augusta and Class A Advanced San Jose, going 8-1 with 1.87 ERA (13er, 62.2ip) with 94 Ks in 44 games...Was Giants Player of Month for May, going 2-0 with 1 save and 0.00 ERA (0er, 15.1ip) with 28 strikeouts and only 1 walk in 9 games. 2009 Played majority of season for Class A Augusta, forging 4-0 record with 1.39 ERA (5er, 32.1ip) and 45 strikeouts in 21 games.
