John Patrick Raynor...graduated South Johnston HS (NC) and attended University of North Carolina-Wilmington, where he was a two-time Colonial League All-Star. 2010 Opened his fifth professional campaign on the Pirates Opening Day roster after being a Rule 5 selection by Pittsburgh in December, 2009 ... Made his Major League debut on April 8 vs. Los Angeles (NL) as a pinch hitter, drawing a walk ... Appeared in 11 games with the Bucs before being returned to Florida. Owned two hits in 10 atbats ... Tallied first ML hit on April 12 at San Francisco, a single off Barry Zito. His other hit came on April 20 vs. Milwaukee ... Upon his return to Florida, was transferred to triple-A New Orleans. Posted a .284 average with six doubles, two home runs and 13 RBI in 41 games with the Zephyrs ... Collected at least one hit in each of his first seven games with the Z's, batting .321 in that time ... Had two stints on the Disabled List with New Orleans.
