Attended Cypress College, where he was a First Team Orange Empire Conference All-Star and Junior College First Team All-American in 2006. Enjoys hockey ... is an avid fan of the Vancouver Canucks.

On the 15-day disabled list from 3/26-5/15 with a left hip labral injury.....transferred to the 60-day DL on 5/16...Missed the entire 2013 season with a left hip labral injury.....underwent surgery in April (Dr. William Raasch)...Participated in the 2013 World Baseball Classic for Team Canada.....appeared in 3 games, batting .286 (4-for-14, 0hr, 0rbi).

2012 Entered 2012 as the eighth-best prospect in the organization according to Baseball America. Appeared in 58 games with the Brewers, batting .184 with 3 HR and 14 RBI. Made 23 starts (14g at 1B, 7g at 3B, 1g at 2B, 1g at DH)/ Had two stints with the team (5/6-7/8 and 9/7-end). Hit his first Major League homer on 6/6 vs. Chicago-NL, a 3-run pinch-hit shot off Carlos Marmol. His second home run was also a pinch-hit homer on 6/8 vs. San Diego (2-run Dale Thayer) ... became the fourth player in franchise history to have his first two career home runs come as a pinch hitter, joining Bob Hansen (1974), Trent Durrington (2004) and Prince Fielder (2005).
