Recorded both of his Major League saves in 2012 for the Mariners, on 7/30 vs Tor and 8/21 vs Cle...in his career has held lefthanded batters to a .209 average (32-153, 3hr)...in his career has stranded 77 percent of inherited baserunners (64-83)...attended Bellville (TX) High School, where he was All-State and District MVP in both his junior and senior seasons...was a classmate of NFL wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders...in 2006 and 2007 played at San Jacinto College in Pasadena, TX (11-3, 3.56), followed by 1 season at Rice University (1-0, 6.16).

Spent the season at Class AAA Salt Lake, where he made 48 relief apps and converted 2 saves in 4 opps...was promoted to LAA on 5/22, but 4 days later was designated for assignment without making an appearance for the Angels...on 5/27 was outrighted to Salt Lake and spent the rest of the minor league season there...was a non-roster invitee to LAA's Major League spring training camp.
