The 24-year-old switch-hitting infielder is in his first season in the Texas organization, and is in his first major league spring training...he was acquired on Dec. 8 from Baltimore as the player to be named later in the Dec. 1 trade involving Taylor Teagarden and Randy Henry...went 50-for-53 in steal attempts in 2011, and has a success rate of 82.7% (91-for-110) in his career on stolen bases...is seeking his first action above Double-A after spending the past two seasons with Bowie in the Eastern League...played primarily second base in 2011 after previously playing exclusively at shortstop...the Virginia native was originally selected by Baltimore in the 5th round of the 2008 June draft and has spent his entire four-year professional career in the Orioles system. 2011 In his second full season at Bowie (AA), batted .280 (118- 421) with 2 HR, 16 doubles, 24 RBI, and 50 stolen bases in 120 games...ranked among league leaders in steals (2nd) and runs scored (5th, 78)...his 50 steals ranked 3rd-highest at Double-A level in 2011 behind only New Hampshire's Anthony Gose (70) and Northwest Arkansas' Derrick Robinson (55)...was successful on his first 37 steal attempts before a pickoff/caught stealing at third base on July 29 at New Britain (G2), as he was caught on straight steals just twice (both at second base)...went 4-for-4 in steal attempts on Aug. 7 vs. New Hampshire, and had 3 steals Aug. 3 vs. Portland...established career highs in runs and walks (54), posting 2nd-highest average of his career...hit .317 (44-139) against lefties...batted .299 (105-351) at night, .186 (13-70) in day games...beginning June 19, batted .329 (68-207) over his final 60 games to raise average from .234 to .280, with similar totals of walks (32) and strikeouts (44) in that span...batted primarily second in the order...was named EL Batter of the Week for July 4- 11, batting .571 (16-28) with a HR, double, 4 RBI, and 12 runs in 8 games in week leading up to All-Star Game...for the year, had a pair of 4-hit games (April 30 vs. Richmond; July 8 at Altoona). 2010 Combined to hit .273 (107-392) with 2 HR, career-high 21 doubles, and 35 RBI in 110 games with Frederick (High-A) and Bowie...was named a Carolina League All-Star...hit .348 (23-66) in 18 games in June with Frederick before being promoted to Bowie on June 21, his first action at Double-A...had 3 doubles Aug. 11 vs. Portland...placed on DL Aug. 28 with season-ending left thumb fracture... 2009 Had a career-high 5 hits and scored a career-best three runs July 13 against Lexington...after being caught stealing on June 25 at Lakewood, stole 14 consecutive bases without being caught to end the season 2008 Had the first 3-hit game of his career Aug. 23 against Tri City.
