strikeouts over 14 appearances/13 starts for Russell County High School (Ala.) in 2006...had a career record of 31-6, 0.91 (26 ER/256.2 IP) with 85 walks and 474 strikeouts over 49 appearances/45 starts and finished his high school career ranked 2nd in strikeouts and 15th in wins in the Alabama High School Athletic Association...named to the 2006 Louisville Slugger All-American Team and 2nd
