Jonathan enters his ninth professional season after being signed by the Cubs as a non-drafted free agent August 23, 2003...was a non-roster invitee to major league Spring Training for the first time in his career in 2012...Owns a .250 batting average (556-for-2,220) with 38 stolen bases, 113 doubles, 13 triples, 20 home runs and 225 RBI in 689 minor league contests...His batting average has increased in each of the last three seasons: .238 in 2009, .265 in 2010 and .270 in 2011...Has reached the Triple-A level in each of the last two seasons, combining to hit .286 (67-for-234) with 15 doubles, six homers and 33 RBI in 88 games with the Iowa Cubs. 2011 Jonathan spent a majority of the season at Triple-A Iowa, hitting .289 (59-for-204) with 24 runs, 15 doubles, one triple, five homers and 30 RBI in 77 contests...Batted .301 (40-for-133) with three homers off right-handed pitchers compared to a .268 mark (19-for-71) with two homers off southpaws...Went 30-for-100 (.300) on the road compared to a .279 mark (29-for- 104) in 39 home games...Was sidelined, April 21-May 6, with a left hamstring strain...Boasted a monthly-best .356 average (21-for-59) with four doubles, one triple, two homers and 13 RBI in 23 May contests...Posted a .323 average (52-for-161) with 13 doubles, one triple, four homers and 25 RBI prior to the All-Star break...hit .163 (7-for-43) with one homer and five RBI in the second half before being sent to Double- A Tennessee August 12...Finished the season with the Smokies, hitting .221 (17-for-77) with five runs, four doubles, two homers and eight RBI in 21 games. 2010 Jonathan made four stops during the season appearing with Single-A Peoria, Single-A Daytona, Double-A Tennessee and Triple-A Iowa...in his first Triple-A action, hit .267 (8-for-30) in 11 contests...In two stints with the Chiefs, was 45-for-160 (.281) with 10 walks, eight doubles, two homers and 24 RBI in 44 games...While at Single-A Peoria, hit .326 (14-for-43) off southpaws and .333 (18-for-54) with runners in scoring position...Earned a promotion to Single-A Daytona, June 28...he appeared in one game July 1 (0-for-6) before being shelved, July 2, with a right ankle strain...was reinstated, July 10, and immediately sent back to Peoria...Was promoted, July 27, to Double-A Tennessee, where he hit .217 (5-for-23) in 10 games...Reached the Triple-A level for the first time in his career, August 12, and remained with the I-Cubs for the rest of the season...hit safely in seven of his 11 games, going 8-for-30 (.267) with three walks, one homer and three RBI. 2009 Jonathan spent the entire season with Double-A Tennessee, his first time at the Double-A level...he batted .238 (76- for-320) with 32 runs, 16 doubles, two triples, two homers and 22 RBI in 107 contests...Produced a monthly-best .339 batting average (20-for-59) with eight walks, nine runs, four doubles, one homer and four RBI in 21 June games. 2008 Jonathan spent a majority of the season with Single-A Daytona, hitting .260 (84-for-323) with 46 runs, 17 doubles, two triples, four homers and 34 RBI in 91 contests...Opened the season with Single-A Peoria, hitting .227 (5-for-22) with five walks and two doubles in seven contests before his April 18 promotion to the D-Cubs. 2007 Jonathan posted a .260 batting average with 13 stolen bases, 55 runs, 25 doubles, three homers and 33 RBI in 105 games between Single-A Peoria and Single-A Daytona. 2006 Split the season between Single-A Peoria and Single-A Daytona...batted .275 with nine RBI in 33 contests with the Chiefs...In 55 contests with the D-Cubs, hit .247 (42-for-170) with six doubles, two triples, one homer and 13 RBI. 2005 In his first season in the United States, hit .236 (50-for-212) with 18 runs, 16 walks, seven doubles, one triple and 22 RBI in 63 contests with Single-A Boise. 2004 Spent his first professional season with the Cubs Dominican Summer League team...hit .211 in 63 games.
