The Yankees selected right-hander Esmil Rogers to their active roster prior to Sunday's series finale against the Astros at Minute Maid Park, in need of some length for what manager Joe Girardi sees as a short bullpen.

The Yankees outrighted Esmil Rogers to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre following Friday's 11-3 loss to the Orioles, and manager Joe Girardi said that he hopes the right-hander will accept the assignment.

Was claimed off waivers by the Yankees from Toronto on 7/31... Made his Yankees debut on 8/3 at Boston, tossing 3.0 scoreless innings to earn his first win of the season (1BB, 3K)...
