Frank Jesus Mata. 2011 Split the season between triple-A Norfolk and Baltimore. Posted a 5-3 record and 3.16 ERA in 36 appearances with the Tides. In 15 games with Baltimore, had no record and a 7.79 ERA ... Began the season with Norfolk, appearing in 18 games before having his contract selected on May 25. Prior to his selection, was 2-1 with a 1.86 ERA (19.1 IP/4 ER) and eight saves in 10 opportunities ... Earned his first win in his first appearance, April 1 vs. Durham. Allowed one run on two hits with a walk and one strikeout in 1.1 innings ... Saved six consecutive opportunities from April 21 to May 11.
