Victor J. Garate...named to Venezuela's provisional roster for the 2009 World Baseball Classic. 2010 Split the season between double-A Harrisburg and triple-A Syracuse in the Washington Nationals system, combining to go 1-2 with five saves and a 3.11 ERA (46.1 IP/16 ER) in 40 games ... Began the year with Harrisburgh, posting no record with four saves in four opportunities with a 0.51 ERA (17.2 IP/1 ER) in his first 14 games ... Promoted to Syracuse on May 18, posting a 1-1 record and 4.91 ERA in 23 appearances. Recorded at least one strikeout in 17 of his 23 games, with nine being multi-strikeout affairs ... Earned his only win on June 12 at Charlotte, tossing 1.1 scoreless innings ... On July 21 at Norfolk, recorded five of six outs by strikeout to mark a season-high ... Landed on the Disabled List on July 26 with a left elbow injury, missing a total of 35 days. Reinstated on August 30 and was transferred back to Harrisburg, where he ended the season with three appearances ... Following the season, made 24 appearances with Leones del Caracas in the Venezuelan Winter League.
