Attended Liceo Sergio Augusto Beras in Dominican Republic. 2011 Made 10 starts for Houston and tossed 6.0+ innings in seven of those 10 outings...finished the year by posting quality starts in five of his last seven appearances (since Aug. 25)...acquired from San Francisco, along with minor league RHP Jason Stoffel, on July 19 in exchange for IF Jeff Keppinger...began the year in SF's organization in Triple A Fresno's bullpen (3-1, 10.41) before being sent to Double A Richmond (5-2, 2.68) to become a starter...at that point, was acquired by Houston and sent to Double A Corpus Christi for three starts (2-0, 2.89)...transferred to Triple A Oklahoma City for his last minor league start on Aug. 5 (0ER/7.0IP)...had his contract purchased from OKC on Aug. 10 and finished his campaign by making 10 starts in the Astros rotation...made his MLB debut on Aug. 10 at Arizona (4ER/6IP)...allowed four earned runs in each of his first three outings before earning his first big league win on Aug. 25 at SF (1ER/6IP) on three-days rest...became the fifth Astros pitcher, second starter, to earn their first ML win in 2011, joining: Fernando Abad, Jordan Lyles, Aneury Rodriguez and Fernando Rodriguez...2011 marked the fourth time Houston has had five-or-more hurlers earn their first ML wins in the same season...as a starter at the Double A and Triple A levels, combined to post a 6-2 record and a 2.69 ERA (18ER/60.1IP) in 10 starts...went 1-2 with a 6.23 ERA (18ER/26IP) and 18 strikeouts in seven starts for the Estrellas de Oriente of the Dominican Winter League in 2011. 2010 Posted 7-8 record with 4.07 ERA (53er, 115.0ip) in 36 games (14 starts) for triple-A Fresno ...
