Signed with Detroit as a 16-year-old nondrafted free agent out of Santo Domingo, DR, on Sept. 30, 2003...signed by Tigers scout Ramon Pena...Is one of three players in Major League Spring Training who was acquired via the Rule 5 Draft...he joins IF Marwin Gonzalez, who was a Rule 5 Draft pick but acquired via trade in 2011, and RHP Josh Fields, who was chosen by Houston in 2012...Was added to the Astros 40-man roster after being drafted in the Major League portion of the 2011 Rule 5 Draft...stayed on the Astros 40-man for two seasons before being outrighted on Dec. 23, 2013...Is currently signed to a minor league contract for the 2014 season...invited to Major League Spring Training on Jan. 14, 2014.
