(JAMIE) VERMILYEA...played his college ball at the University of New Mexico from 2001-03...earned First-Team All-Mountain West Conference honors in 2003 and 2nd-Team All-MWC honors in 2002, leading the conference with 107 strikeouts and working a school-record 131.1 innings...graduated from Sabino High School in his native Tucson, AZ...was a Cape Cod League All-Star for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox in 2002. 2007 May 10 was re-called from Syracuse... Made his Major League debut April 22 at BAL, tossing three innings of scoreless baseball (3.0IP, 3H, K)...Appeared in two games for the Blue Jays...Also pitched three scoreless innings vs. BOS May 10...Major League hitters batted .227 against him in six innings...
