Daniel Jonathan Christensen resides in Brooklyn, N.Y...Graduated from Xaverian High in Brooklyn, N.Y., in 2002...was named All-City 1st team as a junior. 2006 Spent the entire season at High Desert (A), going 6-6 with a 4.89 ERA in 28 starts...in 162.0 innings, allowed 175 hits, 88 earned runs and 58 walks while striking out 153...Set new career highs in wins, starts, innings pitched, walks and strikeouts... his 162.0 innings were 2nd in the California League and his 153 strikeouts placed 3rd...Struggled at home, recording a 5.48 ERA in 16 home starts...fared better away from Mavericks Stadium, posting a 4.17 ERA in 12 road starts...allowed 16 of his 23 home runs at home...Finished the season strong, posting his best month in August going 4-0 with a 2.87 ERA in 6 starts...Lasted at least 6.0 innings in 16 of his 28 starts including 9 of his final 10...Following the season, was named by Baseball America as having the Best Changeup in the Royals minor league system.
