Full name is Buck Coats...he and his wife, April, have a son, Hayden...Graduated from Valdosta (Ga.) High in 2000. 2009 Spent the entire season with Las Vegas (AAA) in the Blue Jays organization, batting .302, the second time in his career he's topped the .300 mark in a season...Left the 51s early to join Team USA in the Baseball World Cup in September...the gold-medal winning U.S. squad was managed by current Royals' first-base coach Eddie Rodriguez...served as the primary leadoff man and center fielder. 2008 Broke camp with the Toronto Blue Jays out of Spring Training... Appeared in eight games for Toronto, including one start on Apr. 11 vs. TEX (left field)... Went 1-for-3 in that contest... Was optioned to Syracuse (AAA) on the very next day (Apr. 12)... Spent the remainder of the season with the Chiefs, appearing in 114 games... Batted .286 with seven home runs & 44 RBI while stealing 14 bases... His five triples led the Club... Was named Minor League Star of the Month for July, batting .284 (25-88) with one home run & seven RBI in 23 games...
