Giants add Mazzaro, send down Broadway

To ensure they have enough fresh pitchers, the Giants selected the contract of right-hander Vin Mazzaro from Triple-A Sacramento and optioned right-hander Mike Broadway to the same club before Saturday's rematch against the Mets.

Made his big league debut in June and was recalled to the Majors on two other occasions....Went 0-2 with a 5.19 ERA in 21 relief appearances with San Francisco....Had his contract purchased from triple-A and was added to the Giants' 40-man and 25-man rosters on June 12, taking the roster spot of OF Hunter Pence, who landed on the 15-day disabled list with tendinitis in his left wrist....Made his big league debut June 13 vs. Arizona, tossing a scoreless inning of relief....Was recalled a second time June 26, replacing LHP Jeremy Affeldt (shoulder strain)....Was recalled a third and final time Aug. 25, again taking the spot of Affeldt (DL)....Went 2-0 with a 0.93 ERA (5er, 48.1ip) and 13 saves in 40 appearances with triple-A Sacramento.

2010 Made a combined 40 appearances between Class AA Mississippi and Class AAA Gwinnett, going 5-1 with a 4.39 ERA in 53.1 relief innings. Twenty of his 40 outings were 2.0 innings or more...Began the season with MS where his first seven outings (9.2 IP) of the year were scoreless.
