Nats outright two players to Triple-A

Nationals right-handers Erik Davis and Taylor Hill, who were designated for assignment this month to make room for second baseman Daniel Murphy and infielder Stephen Drew, respectively, have been outrighted to Triple-A Syracuse.

Erik Randall Davis...Was named with former All-Star outfielder Eric Davis in mind, as father was a long-time fan of the Reds...Stanford alum went 15-7 with a 4.80 ERA and four complete games in 78 games/27 starts spanning four seasons for the Cardinal...As a senior, was named All-Pac 10 after leading the Cardinal in wins, starts, complete games, innings and strikeouts...Pitched in the Cape Cod League for Brewster in 2006 and 2007...Was a member of USA Baseball's Junior National Team in both 2003 and 2004...Was previously drafted by the Angels (47th round, 2004) and the Rangers (21st round, 2007), but chose not to sign.
