Attended Brazoswood HS in Clute, TX...drafted in 1999 by the Rangers in a draft class that produced major leaguers Hank Blalock, Kevin Mench and Aaron Harang. 2006 Started the season with Springfield (AA) before being promoted to Memphis (AAA) on 5/20..Attended, but did not appear in, the Triple-A All-Star Game at Toledo, OH on 7/12...He was selected to the Pacific Coast League team as a replacement for Memphis relievers Josh Kinney and, then, Brian Falkenborg...Made 60 appearances, which was tied for 7th-most in Minor League Baseball...Allowed an earned run in just one of his 16 appearances out of the bullpen at Springfield spanning 20.0 innings pitched (0.45 ERA)...Limited opponents to six hits during his stay (6-for-64, .094) at Double-A...Fanned 55 and walked just 16 in 56.1 innings (44 games) in his first stint at the Triple-A level...Compiled a 10-game scoreless streak from 6/3-28 (13.2 IP) and was unscored upon in 16 of 17 outings through 7/15...Pitched in the Mexican Pacific Winter League and was 2-0 with three saves and a 4.20 ERA in 14 games for Algodoneros de Guasave. 2005 Split the season between Double-A Springfield and Single-A Palm Beach.
