Randy Radames Ruiz... Has one child... Was a 1996 graduate of James Monroe (NY) High School... Attended Bellevue (NE) University where he was named an All-American in 1998. 2009 He began the season playing with Las Vegas in the Pacific Coast League (AAA)... Appeared in 114 games with the 51s, batting .320 batting average, with 43 doubles, 25 home runs &106 RBI, including a .392 on-base percentage, and a .584 slugging percentage... His marks in doubles, RBIs, and total bases led the league, when he was called up to Toronto on Aug. 11... QUITE THE HONOUR: Was selected to play in the PCL All-Star game & on Sept. 6, was selected as MVP of the PCL... It marked his 2nd major award at the AAA level, earning rookie of the year honours in 2008... MAKING A SPLASH: Was promoted on Aug. 11, and made his debut at Yankee Stadium... In his second at-bat hit his first home run as a Blue Jay and added another the next day... Recorded hits in each of his first seven contests and 12 of his first 13 adding four home runs... GOIN DEEP: In total hit 10 home runs in only 33 games & 115 at-bats... Hit one home run per every 11.50 at-bat, which ranked 1st on the club... The ratio of 11.50 was better than any regular in the major leagues... Sept. 30 at BOS, recorded his first multi-home run game of his career hitting two solo home runs to go along with four hits, both career highs... Released by the Phillies on July 24 and later signed on with the San Francisco Giants as a minor league free agent on July 26.
