Attended Spring (TX) High School, where he participated in baseball, football and track...in baseball was first team All-State and third team All-American...was an All-American wide receiver and was recruited to play that position by football powers Texas and Miami...was a district long jump champion. 2011 In 100 apps for the Cardinals' Class AAA affiliate in Memphis and Class AA affiliate in Springfield combined to hit .260 (7hr, 35rbi, 3sb). 2010 Led Class AA Springfield with 6 triples and 15 stolen bases...his 15-game hitting streak from 5/22-6/7 (.370) was the seventh-longest in the Texas League. 2009 Played in 80 games at Springfield (AA), but was injured from 7/13-8/24 with a left quadriceps strain...Went 3-for-4 on Opening Day vs. FRI (4/9) with a season-high four runs scored and a double...Strung together seven consecutive games 6/14-21 in which he collected a hit and scored a run (.290)...Selected to the Texas League All-Star game and went 0-for-3 while starting in left field and leading off...Had 28 multiple-hit games while collecting three hits in six of those games...Committed six errors in 114 total chances (.947) with a 2nd best team total of eight outfield assists...Selected to play for Team USA in the Futures Game at Busch Stadium.
