Attended San Fernando High School in San Fernando, CA and was drafted out of high school...appeared in nine games for San Fernando in 2005, going 3-2 with a 3.21 ERA (10ER /28IP) and 36 strikeouts. ... Earned first-team all-league honors in 2005 while leading San Fernando to a 17-11 record and playoff birth. ...
