Cole William De Vries...2003 graduate of Eden Prairie (MN) High School, where he also played football...named All-State and Class 3A Player of the Year his senior season in baseball...attended University of Minnesota from 2004-06. 2012 Began season with Triple-A Rochester...made eight starts, going 1-4, 4.24 (46.2 IP, 22 ER) for Red Wings. ... Had contract purchased May 22 as the Twins designated Jason Marquis for assignment. ... Was losing pitcher in major league debut in a start May 24 at Chicago-AL, allowing six runs (3 earned) on six hits in 5.0 innings with one walk and four strikeouts. ... Earned first major league win June 4 at Kansas City, allowing five runs (4 earned) on six hits in 5.0 innings with no walks and four strikeouts. ... Optioned back to Rochester June 7...made four starts and was recalled by Twins as "26th-man" for doubleheader with Kansas City June 30... started Game 2 of the doubleheader, earning the win, allowing one run on five hits in 6.0 innings; optioned back to Rochester after the game. ...
