Played collegiately at Coastal Carolina University...originally selected by Philadelphia in the second round of the 2005 First-Year Player Draft. 2011 In 2011, batted a combined .250 with 13 HR and 62 RBI in 120g with Double-A Carolina and Triple-A Louisville...reached base safely in 25 straight games from 4/17-5/12 (.314). 2010 Released by the Orioles on 4/2...signed with the Reds on 5/16...batted a combined .266 with 11 HR and 51 RBI in 94 games with Double-A Carolina and Triple-A Louisville...spent most of the season at Carolina where he was named a Southern League all-star...after his promotion to Louisville on 9/1, spent the rest of the season with the Bats (6g). 2009 Batted a combined .202 in 82 games with Triple-A Norfolk and Double-A Bowie. 2008 Led the Tides in walks and finished third on the club in HR and RBI and fourth in slugging. 2007 Finished second in the Eastern League with 27 HR and third in runs scored (92)...batted .348 (49-141) with 9 HR and 31 RBI over his final 38g starting 7/25, raising his average 30 points...following the season played for the Peoria Saguaros in the prestigious Arizona Fall League where he was selected to participate in the AFL Rising Stars Showcase game...on 11/7 was acquired by theAstros from the Phillies along with OF Michael Bourn and RHP Geoff Geary in exchange for RHP Brad Lidge and IF Eric Bruntlett...on 12/12 was acquired by the Orioles from the Astros along with OF Luke Scott, RHP's Matt Albers and Dennis Sarfate and LHP Troy Patton in exchange for SS Miguel Tejada. 2006 Led Class-A Clearwater in HR, doubles and games played...homered in consecutive games for the first time in his career 4/21-4/22 and then in three consecutive games from 8/10-8/12...named to the Florida State League's mid-season and post-season all-star teams. 2005 Finished T4th in HR and at-bats and T7th in RBI in the New York-Penn League...led Batavia in slugging (.473), total bases (133) and games (73).
