Played ball at Dixie State College of Utah, located in the town of St. George...as a fourth round selection in the 2004 June Draft, he became the highest-drafted player ever out of Dixie State...Arizona Diamondbacks RHP Brandon Lyon was also drafted out of Dixie State. 2007 Twenty-two-year-old opened the year at Class-A Columbus of the South Atlantic League...earned a promotion to Double-A Montgomery on May 24, where he remained until Aug. 11...combined for a .186 average (35-188), 7 homers, 29 RBI, 8 doubles and 20 runs in 59 games...29 RBI marked a career high...Hit a grand slam in his Double-A debut, May 24 at Mississippi (Braves) off LHP Matt Harrison...the Biscuits went on to win the game 7-6 in 12 innings, as he delivered a key sacrifice bunt in the 12th...also walked in his first Double-A plate apps...Homered in three straight games, July 4, 5 and 7, all at Mobile (Diamondbacks)...had a big game for Columbus in a 15-4 win Aug. 24 vs. Savannah (Mets), collecting 4 RBI and falling a single short of the cycle...Caught 12 of 45 attempted base stealers at Montgomery (26.7%) and 8 of 19 runners (42.1%) for Columbus...combined to nab 20 of 64 base stealers (31.3%) on the season...Owns 27 career home runs and 39 doubles in 869 career at-bats. 2006 Split 2006 between Class-A Southwest Michigan and Hudson Valley...cut down 28% (26 of 92) potential base stealers overall...played 48 games for Southwest Michigan and 50 for Hudson Valley...posted a .989 fielding pct. at Hudson Valleyand .983 at Southwest Michigan...Combining both stops, set career highs with 19-2B, 70-H, 27-R and 3-SB...also matched his career best with 8 homers...Logged 133 strikeouts in 343 at-bats. 2005 Spent the entire 2005 season with Class-A Hudson Valley...gunned down 26 of 69 (38%) of potential base stealers...drew a career-high 27 walks. 2004 Homered in his professional debut on June 18, 2004 at New Jersey (Cardinals)...enjoyed his first multi-homer game Aug. 30 at Lowell (Red Sox).
