Promising hurler struggled somewhat in 2007 after dominating 2006 campaign that featured ML debut...was tabbed SF's 10th-best prospect heading into 2007 campaign by Baseball America...26-year-old has posted 17-15 record with 34 saves and 3.38 ERA in 165 career minor league games (3 starts)...has held opposing hitters to paltry .187 avg. (197-for-1,055), while compiling 336 strikeouts in 295.2 innings pitched...5th-year professional was SF's 6th round selection in 2003 First-Year Player Draft out of Louisiana State University, where he was college teammates with current Giants pitcher Brian Wilson...was also selected twice by Seattle in First-Year Player Draft (2000 and 2001).

Graduated from Catholic (Pensacola, FL) High School...attended Pensacola Community College, before spending 2003 season at Louisiana State University...single.
