Signed with Atlanta as an 18-year-old amateur out of the Dominican Republic on Aug. 2, 2002...signed by Braves scout Roberto Aquino...Signed to a minor league contract, Hernandez was invited to Major League Spring Training on Dec. 2, 2011. 2011 For the third straight season bounced between Triple A Gwinnett and the Braves Major League club...played in 22 games for the Braves, hitting .212 (7x33), while playing three dfferent positions: third base (6g), shortstop (3g) and first base (1g)...broke the season with Gwinnett before his only stint in the Majors from May 8-June 21...designated for assignment on July 29 and outrighted to Gwinnett on Aug. 2...hit .201 (55x273) in 79 games at Triple A...played for two different clubs in the Dominican Winter League, Escogido (28g) and Este (21g)...hit a combined .284 (50x174) with two home runs and 26 RBI, including a .346 (27x78) mark with Este. 2010 Split time between Triple-A Gwinnett and Atlanta in an injury-shortened season...Opened the season on the 60-day disabled list due to left-shoulder rehabilitation.
