Peter John (P.J.) Pilittere...Played collegiately at Cal-State Fullerton...named team captain in 2004 and helped lead his team to the College World Series...hit .351 with 18 doubles, 4 home runs and 49 RBI in 69 games during his senior season...Graduated from Bishop Amat High School in Walnut, Calif....garnered first-team All-Del Rey League and honorable mention All-San Gabriel Valley honors...was the starting catcher in the 1999 San Gabriel Valley All-Star Game. 2010 Played in just 22 games with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in the New York Yankees organization due to 4 separate stints on the disabled list...Placed on the disabled list on April 8 with a left thumb contusion...reinstated on May 6...Had his second stint on the disabled list from June 9-17 with a right shin contusion...Placed on the disabled list for the third time on July 1 with a left ankle sprain...reinstated on July 17...Also spent time on the disabled list from Aug. 6-Sept. 1 with a left elbow contusion. 2009 Combined to bat .220 with 1HR and 17RBI in 55 games with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and Double-A Trenton... had three stints on the disabled list with a left thumb sprain (4/9-16), right oblique muscle strain (6/1-13) and a sprained right ankle (7/24-31)... began the season with Scranton/WB, batting .244 in 28 games... was transferred to Trenton on 8/2, where he remained through the end of the season. 2008 Hit .277 with 15 doubles, 3HR and 48RBI in 97 games with Double-A Trenton... hit .336 (38-for-113, 0HR) off left-handed pitching and .251 (63-for-251, 3HR) off righties... struck out just once every 11.38AB, leading the EL and 11th overall in the minors (32K, 392PA)... ranked fifth among qualifying EL catchers with a 21.3% caught stealing rate (17-of-80)... named to the EL midseason All-Star team. 2007 Batted .261 with 16 doubles, 2HR and 34RBI in 100 games with Double-A Trenton... led all Eastern League catchers with a .995 fielding percentage (4E, 844TC) and 97 games played... also appeared in two games at 1B... was a .372 hitter when leading off an inning (27-for-79). 2006 Batted .302 with 5HR and 38RBI in 87 games with Single-A Tampa... led all Florida State League catchers with a .998 fielding percentage, committing just one error in 587 total chances... in 12 games with the Peoria Saguaros in the Arizona Fall League, batted .394 (13-for-33) with 8RBI. 2005 In second season with short-season Single-A Staten Island, batted .250 with 4HR and 25RBI in 53 games played. 2004 Made professional debut with short-season Single-A Staten Island... batted .215 in 34 games for the Yankees.
