Resides in Santo Domingo, DR...signed by Diamondbacks scout Junior Noboa. 2011 Spent the season at Triple-A Gwinnett in the Braves system, his first with Atlanta...batted .262 (73-for-279) with 12 doubles, 1 triple, 5 home runs and 37 RBI in 80 games...switch-hitter batted .233 vs. lefties and .288 vs. right-handers...Played the majority of his games at catcher (58), though he also saw time in the field at first base (2), second base (1), third base (9) and in left field (7)...2011 was his fourth-straight season to play at the Triple-A level. 2010 Played entire season with Triple-A Louisville (92 G) hitting .256 (81-for-317) with nine home runs and 35 RBI...His nine home runs set a new career high...In his eight-year minor-league career he has played 349 games at catcher, 44 at 2B, 109 at 3B, 16 at SS, 62 at 1B and 44 in OF...Has consistently been rated one of the top defensive catchers in the minor leagues but has played every defensive position except pitcher and first base in his career...Following the season, he played for Escogido of the Dominican Winter League and batted .255 with seven doubles, two home runs and 18 RBI in 42 contests. 2009 Because of injury appeared in just 37g at Class AAA Louisville and 4g during 3 stints with the Reds...while sliding headfirst into second base on 6/20 vs WSox suffered a season-ending injury to his left shoulder...on 6/22 had arthroscopic surgery to repair the torn labrum in that shoulder (Dr. Timothy Kremchek)... for the Reds made 3 apps as a pinch hitter and another as a pinch runner...from 5/24-5/25 was on the roster but did not play...from 5/30-6/5 made 2 apps as a PH and 1 appearance as a PR...was recalled for the third time on 6/20, suffered the injury that night and spent the rest of the season on the disabled list...was transfered to the 60-day DL on 7/3, when Edwin Encarnacion came off the 60-day DL...appeared in 37g for Louisville, where he played 2B (1g), 3B (13g), OF (2g) and C (21g)...on 11/9 was reinstated from the 60-day DL, was outrighted off the roster and agreed to terms on a minor league contract for 2010 with an invitation to Major League spring training camp...following the season caught for Escogido in the Dominican Winter League (5g, .316, 1rbi) and in 15 winter league post-season apps hit .269 (1hr, 5rbi, 1sb). 2008 In his Major League debut made 18 apps for the Reds as a September callup...appeared in 2g at 2B, 5g in LF and 11g as a pinch hitter or pinch runner...was acquired on 8/14 as a PTBNL in the 8/11 trade that sent OF Adam Dunn to Ari...in 115g at Class AAA Tucson and Louisville combined to hit .248 (54g at C, 5g at 2B, 48g at 3B, 6g at SS, 8g in LF)...on 9/2 vs Pit made his big league debut as a pinch hitter (F7 off Ian Snell)...on 9/3 vs Pit recorded his first career hit, a pinch-hit single off T.J.
