Graduated from Fall Brook (CA) High School in 1998...led Brigham Young University (ID) with a 2.35 ERA in 69.0 IP in 2002...finished the year with an 8-2 record and tossed four complete games with three shutouts...married to wife, Holly. 2006 Emerged as one of the top relievers in the Cardinals farm system...Combined to go 3-3 with two saves, a 1.27 ERA and 78 strikeouts in 56.2 innings pitched between Palm Beach (A) and Springfield (AA)...Limited opponents to a .127 (24-for-189) batting average, which was 2nd-best among relievers in Minor League Baseball...Began the season with Palm Beach and appeared in 34 games while posting a 2-2 record and 1.54 ERA (41.0 IP / 7 ER)...Promoted to Springfield in mid-August and allowed just five hits and two runs (one earned) in 15.2 innings spanning 10 outings...He struck out 20, while walking six and holding opponents to a .096 batting average...Was not scored upon in his final 16 appearances at Palm Beach from 6/24 - 8/10 (19.1 IP).
