Signed by the Yankees as a minor league free agent on 1/8/14. 

2013

Was signed by the Angels as a minor league free agent on 1/23…attended spring training as a non-roster invitee but began the season with Triple-A Salt Lake, going 1-0 with 4 saves and a 4.82 ERA (18.2IP, 10ER, 29K) in 15 relief appearances…was selected to the Major League roster on 5/11 and spent the rest of the season with the Angels…his first 7G in the Majors were scoreless (8.1IP, 14K, 0BB)… retired 19 consecutive batters from 5/13-25 (12K), spanning 6G…recorded his first career ML win on 5/18 vs. Chicago-AL after throwing 1.2 perfect innings (3K)…earned his first career ML save in his next outing on 5/23 at Kansas City (W, 5-4), getting Alcides Escobar to fly out after entering the game with 2 outs in the bottom of the ninth and runners on first and second… stranded 11-of-12 inherited runners and held opponents to a .219 BA while pitching with the Angels.

In his only season in the Blue Jays organization, went 4-1 with a 3.00 ERA (42.0IP, 14ER, 43K) in 19G/3GS with Triple-A Las Vegas, including 2-0 with a 1.29 ERA as a starter (15.0IP, 2ER)…also appeared in 6G with Toronto, going 0-1 with a 12.79 ERA (6.1IP, 9ER, 11K, 4BB)…went 1-0 with an 8.31 ERA (4.1IP, 4ER) for Guaira of the Venezuelan Winter League. 

2011 Appeared in 34 games (15 starts) between Tennessee of the Southern League (AA) and Iowa of the Pacific Coast League (AAA)... Combined to go 7-8 with a 4.19 ERA with one save... Spent the majority of his season with Iowa making 11 of his starts with Iowa in his first 12 outings... As a starter posted a 4-5 record with a 6.52 ERA, allowing batters to hit .288... FINDING A HOME: Moved to the bullpen for the balance of the season in July and in total made 19 relief appearances, recording a 1.01 ERA, while holding opponents to a .149 average with Iowa... Fanned 42 in 35.2 relief outings... Did not allow a run in nine of his final 10 outings, which included 20.1 innings... All but two of those final 10 outings were 2.0+ innings... WINTER BALL: Played in the Venezuelan Winter League, going 0-2 with a 3.42 ERA in 18 relief appearances. 2010 Made Major League debut with Boston as a September call-up and appeared 6 times overall in relief...Selected to the Major League roster on 9/5...Made Big League debut on 9/6 vs. TB, surrendering 3 runs on 3 hits and 2 walks while recording just 1 out...Combined to strike out 5 batters in 5.1 scoreless innings over his final 5 appearances beginning 9/7...Finished 2 games for the Sox, 9/7 vs. TB and 9/19 vs. TOR, both perfect outings...Retired 7 of his last 8 batters faced to close out the season beginning with his final hitter on 9/10 at OAK...Led all Red Sox farmhands with 130 strikeouts, going 7-6 with 1 save and a 3.86 ERA (46 ER/107.1 IP) in 32 games (13 starts) between Double-A Portland and Triple-A Pawtucket...Recorded 79 strikeouts after joining the PawSox on 6/12, 4th most in the International League in that time...7 of his last 8 appearances with Pawtucket came out of the bullpen¡KOwned a 1.40 ERA (3 ER/19.1 IP) with 24 strikeouts over 9 relief outings overall with the PawSox. 2009 Spent the majority of his first season in the Red Sox organization with Salem (A)... Began the year with one relief appearance for Pawtucket (AAA)... Led Salem relievers with a 1.09 WHIP while finishing 2nd overall on the club with a 2.05 ERA... Ranked among qualifying Carolina League relievers in opponents average (3rd, .167), strikeouts per nine innings (4th, 11.18), and fewest base runners per nine innings(4th, 10.77)...
