As a junior in 2003 at Texas Tech, led the Red Raiders in slugging (.568) and ranked second in average (.373). 2006 In his first season at the Double-A level, Colonel batted .248 on the road and .297 at home...hit lefties at .287 and right-handers at .267...versatile fielder saw action at first base (12), second base (21), third base (23) and the outfield (32)...drove in season-high four RBI on April 20 at Arkansas...collected season- high four hits on June 22 vs. Midland...batted .250 (4-for-16) in four games of the Texas League playoffs. 2005 Spent entire season at Modesto...hit .310 with 73 runs, 32 doubles, seven home runs and 60 RBI in 96 games...ranked 9th among organizational leaders and third on club in batting average...was placed on the DL on April 7 due to a left quad strain and did not appear in his first game until May 20...batted .348 (16-for-46) in May...was the organization's Player of the Month for June after batting .346 (28-for-81) with two HR and 18 RBI in 22 contests...recorded 12-game hitting streak from June 16-July 2, during which he batted .489 (22-for-45)...hit safely in 14 consecutive home games at .471 (24-for-51)...went 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBI in 9-7 loss vs. San Jose on Aug. 25...batted .263 (5-for-19) in five playoff games. 2004 Led the organization and tied for fifth in the South Atlantic League with 35 stolen bases...was successful in 35 of his 43 attempts (81%), sixth highest percentage in the league...led SAL first basemen in both putouts (1065) and total chances (1106)...reached base safely in each of his first 26 games, April 8-May 16, the longest on-base streak by an Asheville player...hit a grand slam on June 6 vs. Greensboro. 2003 Had a league-high 18-game home hitting streak, Aug. 1-28. 2007 In his second season with Tulsa he led the league with 47 doubles...finished second in theTexas League with a .309 batting average and 84 RBI...named to the Texas League postseason All-Star team...led Drillers in several offensive categories including, batting average, home runs (17), RBI, runs (78), hits (163), and total bases (261)...was the Rockies organizational player of the month for June when he hit .361 (39-for-108), with six home runs, 21 RBI and 15 doubles...played mostly third base, but also received multiple starts in right and left field...did commit 18 errors, however, the second-highest total in the circuit among third baseman...along with teammate Jordan Czarniecki was named Co-Texas League player of the week for July 30-Aug. 5 when he hit .405 (11-for-27)...had season-high 16-game hitting streak from July 31-Aug. 17...hit .378 (28-for-74) during streak...hit .358 (57-for-159) vs. lefties and .288 (106- for-368) vs. right-handers.
